BLACK LIVES MATTER. Find out how you can help here and here.

In this episode we sit down for a chat with Brittney George (Mixed Mental Health) to revisit mental health from a mixed perspective, this time with an additional focus on searching for identity as a mixed race person.

Holistic therapist, Identity coach, and powerful Biracial Unicorn Brittany George joins us today on the podcast.
Brittany George, interviewing from Canada, brings her professional and personal experience to the show as we ask and discuss questions about racial identity. We start off our interview with are favorite question, “what are you”. Then throughout the episode we also discuss:

• The importance of terminology when identifying ourselves racially. • Recognize that your identity can evolve and change as we learn (or unlearn) new information – It’s ok to change your mind. • Training people how to treat us.

Brittany also shares some impactful insight on:

• The relationship between racial identity and mental health. • The necessity of cultural competence within the counseling world. • The complexity of racial identity within the Black Lives Matter movement. • What do you do when those closest to you aren’t ready to discuss race.

*A little bonus * We also share the love story of Dani and Dameca.

We definitely want to share our Happy Place with our lovely guest hint it’s going to give you magical outdoor vibes, plant baby feels, and a rainbow connection.
